| Agro-forestry, as it is sometimes referred to, is widely practiced in China. The theory being that by sacrificing 7% of your land to plant Empress Splendor™, you will increase the yield from the "intercrop " by 10%. The harvest of the Empress Splendor™ is a bonus.
The spread of the Empress Splendor™ leaves allows 30% of the sunlight to penetrate, enough to grow the majority of crops. Beneath the canopy of the tree a "micro climate" is created with less evaporation, more moisture is retained, and the fertilizer, not taken up by the intercrop, (ground cover) is taken up by the Empress Splendor™ tree as the fertilizer penetrates the soil.
The Empress Splendor™ tree derives its nutrients from a much lower soil level than the "intercrop", hence it does not need to compete.
The Empress Tree grows at six times the rate of other comparable trees, therefore, in general terms, it follows that:
Empress' has 6 times the foliage.
Empress' has 6 times the root structure.
Empress' has 6 times the uptake of pollutants.
Empress' consumes 6 times as much C02.
Empress' produces 6 times the Oxygen.
Empress' are more than 6 times as profitable as an agro-forestry tree species
Other advantages
For every Empress tree sold and planted (estimated):
Four Poplars can be saved
Six pine trees can be saved.
Ten maple trees can be saved.
Twelve oak trees can be saved. |
