Mike's Empress Splendor is now standing tall at 18 feet and shows no sign of slowing down. Believe it or not, Mike has another Empress Splendor that's up to 16 feet tall in his backyard. Incredible!

Don Stahlman, also from Lecanto, FL, lives across the street from Rene Lemelin. Here Don is pictured with his Empress Splendor, which sports beautifully dark green coloured leaves. Looks great Don!
Taking It Easy
Here's a picture of Rene Lemelin's Empress and his 7-Year Old Boston Terrier, Willie - who knows exactly where to find shade. Willie likes to take his naps under Rene's Empress Splendors when the Florida sun gets a little too hot!

This picture is of Rene Lemelin from Lecanto, FL looking 'over head' at his Empress Splendor that has grown 83 inches in 84 days. That's just under an inch of growth per day. Incredible!
Mike's Monster
After only 3 months Mike's tree had grown to 12.5 feet. That's just over 4 feet of growth per month!
Standing Tall
Check out this Empress Splendor standing just taller than Mike Appell from Neptune, Florida. This tree was planted in Mid-May of 2009 and has been the common topic of conversation with Mike's neighbours this summer.
Elephant Ears
What's that blocking out the sun? A cloud? Nope, just a bunch of ginormous Empress leaves! Imagine the shade provided once this tree grows a few months older!?

This tree was planted last spring in Lady Lakes, Fl by Kris Gehman. As you can see, Magnum (Kris' Dog) ensures other wildlife steers clear of their Empress Splendor! ;) Thanks for the excellent picture!

Mr. Godwin Esaki has planted a 1,000 tree plantation in Kauai, Hawaii. The Empress Splendors were planted at the end of April in 2008. On 7-15-08, Godwin's daughter, who is 5'6", is standing next to a tree.
